Question 1
The media and peers are always influencing the images we want to exhibit. However, I feel that only part of that statement is true for me.
Ways the statement is true!
* The desire to stay skinny and avoid gaining weight and size.
* The desire to be active and fit.
* The desire to fit in at work with the prop
Ways the statement is false!
* Not necessarily follow trends with clothing!
* Avoiding shortcut ways to stay fit and thin.
* Wearing clothing that is comfortable for me!
~Sweats, athletic clothing, t-shirts! (However I do dress nicely when I am comfortable doing so!)
* Not needing to constantly dress in the latest fad just because "everyone is doing it."
Parts of me live in this appearance culture! Like I stated above I do not do things just because "everyone is doing it." I fit in because of the range of cultures we have. I might not be exactly what the media depicts as acceptable but am acceptable in my eyes. My friends seem to accept me as well.
Question 2
~ I have decided if I would have analyzed this 5 years ago it would have been a completely different result!
Family interactions!
* Mom - Phone, Text and Face to Face
* Brother - Phone and Text
* Dad - Text and Face to Face
* Cousins - Text and Face to Face
Friend interactions!
* Best Friends - Text!!! Face to Face
* Boyfriend - Face to Face and an occassional text
* Acquaintences - Face to Face
* Good Friends that live too far away to visit on a regular basis- Text, Phone, and Facebook!
I get a lot of face to face time with friends and family! However when I am unable to spend time with them we usually text or chat on the phone. I talk to the people I am most close to over text throughout the day. Texting has brought me closer to people because when I think of them I can send them a quick text and they can answer whenever they are able to! I still get the same amount of face to face communication with those people thought!
